Did you know that Massachusetts DCR's Willowdale State Forest offers over 40 miles of trails ranging from fire roads to single tracks?  Join ECTA as we explore this extensive trail network on a novice/intermediate level mountain bike ride led by Scott Halstead and Bruce MacDonald.

The pace will be set by the group with one ride leader in front and another in the rear so no one will get lost.  Willowdale SF offers great single track that has some roots, rocks, side obstacles and climbs, but most of the terrain in this area is mainly fast and smooth single track.

We'll cover about 5-8 miles of trail, which should take about 1.5 - 2 hours.

Meet at the Willowdale Meadow Parking Lot located on Ipswich Road in Topsfield.  "Wheels down" at 8:30 am, so please arrive a few minutes early to unload and check in.
Helmets required, water bottles recommended.

From Route 1, take Ipswich Road heading east.  After passing Asbury Street on the right, the parking area will be just over 1/4 mile farther down Ipswich Road (
If you reach the Ipswich/Topsfield town line you have gone too far).  Parking available on both sides of the street.

From Ipswich Center take Topsfield Road heading west.  After passing Winthrop Street (and Foot Bros. Canoe) on the left, the parking area will be about 3/4 mile down the road (about 1/4 mile past the Ipswich/Topsfield town line).  Parking available on both sides of the street.

Please email us or call Ashley at 978-468-1133 for general information, or contact Scott at 617-697-7814 for specific questions about the ride and trail conditions.
